Mission Statement
To responsibly retrofit residential and light commercial buildings to be more comfortable, healthful, energy efficient, and valuable, using a whole-building approach, 21st century technology, and sound building science.
Adam Letcher, the owner of Building Performance Retrofitters, first became interested in building efficiency while working as a carpenter for a home builder while attending James Madison University. Upon completion of his degree in Geography and several years post university framing houses, he worked as an Environmental Scientist for a Northern Virginia based consulting firm. Following his work at the consulting firm he worked for several years as an estimator and sales representative for the largest independently owned Insulation and Energy Auditing Company in the mid-Atlantic region. Adam is a BPI certified Building Analyst, BPI certified Envelope Professional, RESNET certified HERS rater, and a NAHB certified Green Building Professional.
